Week Two July 29 - August 2

Monday July 29, 2013
             Canned Jalapeno jelly with Troy (peppers from the garden)pectin made this stiffer than i like
             tea date with a friend

Tuesday, July 30
            Food bank, made bags of food for clients, tuna casserole
            tried peppers in side dishes, jalapeno in cream corn, roasted red pepper in mac n cheese
            Vegetable stock with cucumber and eggplant
            Walked one mile today
Wednesday, July 31
            History Channel- learning about volcanoes around the world
            Luke chapter 17, the return of the Son of man
            Spicy Vegetable stock in two applications, grain and fresh pole beans
Thursday, Aug 1
            1 Timothy 6 and having food and clothing with these we shall be content
            Trying leftover eggplant vegetable bake from the freezer for dinner to see if it will reheat (this baked               garden vegetable dish reheated great.  Added some additional cheese and fresh herbs and it was                   delicious.)
            Walked one mile
            Started reading Twelve Patients by Eric Manheimer MD
Friday, Aug 2
           Genesis chapter two
           Homemade chocolate ice cream with nuts
           Plans to attend Indy Jazz event at Conner Prairie tonight (weather permitting)

Week One July 22-26

University at Home

Monday:  Psalm 22:  the humble shall eat and be satisfied
               Roasted Turkey with oven roasted beets and kohlrabi
               Homemade softserve vanilla ice cream

Tuesday: The Red Badge of Courage  by Stephen Crane
              Italian Garden Vegetable Bake (Eggplant and Kale)

Wednesday:  Walked about 2 miles
                     Volunteered at food bank
                     Spent some time with a friend that recently lost loved ones
                     Gathered supplies for jalapeno jelly
                     Tried new wine- Black Stallion from Napa Valley Cabernet

Thursday: I Corinthians 1-3:  The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men
                Homemade turkey soup made from roasted turkey
                researched more canning recipes and bought blueberries for jam

Friday:  Deuteronomy 8:10 when you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good              land He has given you.  Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God.
             Roasted red pepper and goat cheese sandwich with basil on ciabatta (picnic)
             canned blueberry jelly
             Walked 2 miles
